About Us
MALABAR AWARENESS AND RESCUE CENTRE FOR WILDLIFE
The Vision of Malabar Awareness and Rescue Centre for Wildlife (MARC) lies in our logo itself which is made up of the Pugmarks of two animals. One of which is of a Tasmanian wolf which became extinct in 1936 due to intensive hunting, introduction of domestic dogs and human encroachment. Time wiped out the Pugmark of this creature with anthropogenic activity; the logo is an apt reminder of the destruction caused by our past actions. The latter part of the logo depicts a human footprint which represents the relentless march towards “development” which has resulted in the merciless habitat destruction of other creatures. The unplanned and thoughtless “development” has resulted in polluting the planet and severe changes of climatic conditions. The over exploitation of resources without a care for other creatures is making it impossible for them to survive and they are driven towards extinction.
MARC stands for promoting co-existence of humans and all other life forms and thus developing a humane society for a better tomorrow.
